1) Installation

  • Go to your WordPress dashboard
  • Click on Appearance>Themes>Add New>Upload Theme
  • Select from the folder package and click on Install Now
  • Click on Activate
  • If you want a better experience click on Begin installing plugin at the top of the page in the notice box with a yellow border
  • Install and activate all plugins (if you don’t need a ecommerce don’t install WooCommerce)

2) Import demo data

  • Now you can click on Appearance/Import Demo Data
  • Click on Import Demo Data
  • Done! Your website is ready!

3) Featured Slider

  • If not yet, install the free plugin Jetpack
  • Connect it to your account (select the free account)
  • Go to Appearance>Customize>Featured content
  • Add the tag “featured”
  • Use the same tag for posts for the featured slider

4) Promo Boxes/Intro Area

  • Go to Appearance>Customize>Home Page (PanKogut)>Promo Box or Index Area
  • Activate the promo box or the index area
  • Upload your image
  • Write the title
  • Paste the url of each box
  • Save it!

5) Blog Layouts

  • Go to Appearance>Customize> Blog Style (PanKogut)
  • You can select the blog and the sidebar layout
  • You can also activate the excerpt (suggested)

6) Widgets

  • The theme has 4 custom widgets:
    • About
    • Social Icons
    • Latest Posts with Thumbnail
    • Banner ADV
    • Facebook Badge
  • It is also compatible with the following third widgets:
    • Wp Instagram Widget
    • Contact Form 7
    • Mailchimp for WordPress
  • You can use them under the tab Appearance>Widgets where you have the following sidebar areas:
    • Sidebar: the classic sidebar for the blog area
    • Footer Area for Instagram: where you can use the widget Instagram
    • 3 Footer Columns
    • Archive Sidebar for Recipe Index
    • Single Post Bottom for Mailchimp for WordPress

7) Menu

  • There are 2 navigation area: Primary and Footer. You can create your menus under the tab Appearance>Menus and select the area for each menu.

8) Footer Social Icons

  • Go to Appearance>Customize>Footer (PanKogut)>Social Media Icons
  • Paste your social urls included the https://

9) Customize Panel

  • Go to Appearance>Customize where you can find tons of option:
    • Start Here: you can change the size of the website, change main colors and add your google analytics ID
    • Background: you can change the colors of the main background and the content area
    • Fonts: Body, Headings, Site Title, Tagline, Post/Page Title, Category, Menu, Widget Title
    • Header: you can upload a custom header image, change the colors of the menu and edit the Site Title informations
    • Home Page: you can create a custom slider and add promo boxes and the intro area.
    • Blog Style: All layouts and Excerpt option (see the point 5)
    • Hide/Show Elements: you can hide most elements of your website
    • Footer: here you can add social icons and change the footer credits

10) WooCommerce

  • The theme is compatible with the plugin WooCommerce. You can install the demo for your shop under the tab Appearance>Import Demo Data

11) Post/Pages

  • Each post/page has 4 Different Layouts:
    • Right Sidebar
    • Left Sidebar
    • Centered
    • Full-Width

12) Recipes Index

  • All archives page like categories and tags are customized like a recipes index. So you don’t need to create a new page.
  • In the archive pages there is a custom sidebar where you add for example filters for your recipes.
  • It suggested to add for example the category Recipes to all of your recipe posts and use tags like meals and ingredients
  • Now you can create a custom menu with your filter category like in the demo: and use them in the Archives Sidebar with the widget Navigation Menu

13) Translation and RTL

  • The theme is translation ready and RTL compatible.
